Current mood: nauseated

What possesses them?
What? I can't understand it. What possesses a tasteful, knowledgable fashion house to /ruin/ a perfectly good runway show - dripping with some of the nicest men I've seen since I got back from Milan - with women?

Not /just/ women, though. No. These were not aesthetically pleasing creatures. These were women that make me revel in the safety of my homosexuality. Marionettes without strings. Withered, emaciated creatures wrapped in a few latex and spandex rubberbands and propped up on stilts. Women so thin that their femininity is only defined by the outline of the uterus and ovaries showing through their overtanned, drum-tight skin.

And they put them. In the middle. Of a men's fashion show.

Yes, the clothing was lovely, but none of the purchasers really got a good look because they were all too busy vomiting into their Prada shoulderbags. Thanks for killing the calories from that fantastic terrine of quail with fig jam that they really should have said no to, but the cleaning bill's going to be a bitch.

If it were once, I'd let it slide. But this is three times now. I need to lie down with a lavendar herb-pack before my eyeballs retreat too far back into my head. I'm traumatized. Really.

The last time I went to a fashion show...

I developed a screaming headache inside of thirty seconds. The typical emotions backstage at a fashion show make this place at its worst seem happy, well-adjusted Teletubby-land.

Curse you, Jubilee, for infecting my brain with their handbag-carrying evil!

;)

Seriously, though, there is something _wrong_ with runway models. Of both genders.

If I'm remembering the Standard Runway Model Facial Expression (or lack thereof), perhaps they're under some form of mind control?

Hn. It's possible. The smaller shows aren't that bad but the major ones are getting positively irritating.

No mind control. Unless it's of the perfectly mundane variety.

But those people are _toxic_. Pure mental poison.

No fifteen-year-old should be subjected to that.

There's a line between fashionably slim and possibly impaling your lover on a hipbone if you don't grate them to death on your ribs. The former has its charm (or so my experience would suggest), the latter, none at all.

Whoever decided Heroin Chic was a good idea needs to be severely maimed, along with whoever else is helping keep the style alive.

I want someone I can walk down the street with without worrying they'll be blown away by a light breeze, or fall through a crack in the sidewalk. But maybe that's just me.

Impaling on a hipbone? I can do that.

I've been told that's not particularly pleasant. (I believe the exact words were 'like grinding against the pavement'.) Personally, I think you all just need thicker skins.

Figure of speech. It's hardly a concern for me. My skin may not be thick but it's very, very durable. Some people find this disappointing. Personally, I rather like not having to worry.

maybe now is a good time to point you to your kitchen table, you have a present. I assume you didn't see it in your attempts to not vomit.

I wouldn't call it coture, but you DID say you liked to bike...

I've never seen a run-way show before. Do you purchase the clothes yourself Jean-Paul?

I've kept quiet while you gentleman voiced your opinions on something I've considered my livelihood for most of my life.

And while you're allowed your unappreciative interpretation of walking art. It is not in my nature to allow you to bash the work of dear friends.

Appreciation of art has always been subjective, but learning some tact has never been a daunting task.
