 If Hank tries to feed me baby food one more time, we will both end up covered in strained pears.  I don't have fur to wash the goo out of; I have nothing to lose.

A true friend would help me eat my damn lunch. Who feeds children this stuff? Do you know what strained yellow beans look like? I swear I fought this stuff up in Iqualuit one summer when the spirits were getting testy.

On the other hand, I'm currently sprawled in my own bed with a really interesting book on Chechnya, my own lunch - and I'll spare you the details, because I'm not actually that cruel - and a bird who's currently trying to eat Moira's pillow.

I adore poached pears in dark chocolate sauce with a raspberry coulis. I love them fresh off the tree on the sunny side of some slope of a gnarled old orchard in the middle of September. I hate pear paste out of a jar with a very fat baby glaring at me from the label.
